The main cabin is hand-hewn round timber of unusually high quality. The stay is sheltered, off-grid and private – shaped by heritage, working seters and the stillness of a road that ends just nearby. A solar-power system and a practical kitchen with good capacity for heating water and cooking make the stay comfortable, in the midst of the simple.
The living room
The natural-stone fireplace sets the tone the moment you step inside. The insert makes it an efficient source of heat, and with the spark guard in place the fire can burn openly through the evening – visible from the sofa and from the long table. The long table is a traditional given in any Norwegian home or cabin: with room for four on each side, this is where dinners linger, cards are dealt and the conversations last until the candles burn down.
The evenings here have a rhythm of their own – coffee, candlelight and an open fire.
The kitchen
The kitchen is simple but well equipped. The gas stove works just like at home, while the large wood stove heats the whole cabin – and the water tank on top gives you plenty of hot water for washing up, personal hygiene, or a bucket shower outdoors if you dare. A battery-powered shower is also available. Cutlery, plates, glasses and everything you need for cooking are ready. Brewing coffee on the wood stove belongs to the morning.
The bedrooms
The main cabin has two bedrooms, each sleeping 2 (3), with the stillness of the mountains just outside the window.
Arnebergbua – the fishing cabin
Arnebergbua sleeps two and is made for retreat – early evenings, quiet mornings and a private view over Fullsenn.
